Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has been appointed as the new Chairman of the North East Regional Power Committee (NERPC). He took over charge as Chairman of NERPC on Wednesday.  

Neiphiu Rio took over charge as Chairman of NERPC. NERPC is a committee that looks into various issues relating to power sector in the Northeast. In the event, Neiphiu Rio said, ?Have formally taken over charge as Chairman NE Regional Power Committee from former Chairman James Sangma, Hon?ble Minister of Power, Meghalaya. NEPC is the highest forum which coordinates various issues relating to power sector of NE, including generation & transmission utilities.?
