The Tokyo Olympics are scheduled to begin on July 23 this year. India's players have been preparing for it since 2019. Corona has also affected the players' preparations but is once again gaining form. He also urged the country to boost the enthusiasm of the sportspersons. The Sports Ministry launched the Olympic jersey on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he will do everything possible for the players.

Earlier, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju had said that India should not be satisfied with 1-2 medals at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and should think about coming out in the top-10. Rijiju said, "The Central and State Governments have to work together and we will provide all necessary financial assistance so that they can get proper infrastructure, sports science, high quality training. We can't be satisfied with just one or two medals, we have to make it to the top 10 at the 2028 Olympics. ’
