New Delhi: Naseeruddin Shah today on his controversial statement  that death of a cow has more significance than that of a police officer, stated, "What I said earlier was as a worried Indian. What did I say this time that I am being termed as a traitor? I am expressing concerns about the country I love, the country that is my home. How is that a crime?

After veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah stated he's concerned for children in today's India, BJP stated that Naseeruddin is a Congress agent accusing that the statement was issued keeping in view the next 2019 LS elections. Taking to Twitter, Rakesh Sinha wrote Nasiruddin Shah should first ask Rohingyas to go away Hindustan as according to him India is dangerous for him and his family! An artist should not be part of menacing design of anti cil society propaganda. His proclamation shows his low thinking.

There is complete impunity for those who take law into their hands. In many areas we are witnessing that the death of a cow has more significance than that of a police officer.”

Shah also referred to the recent violence in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr.  He said at several places the "death of a cow is being given more importance than the killing of a policeman".
