Vivaan Shah is the younger son of Bollywood veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and actress Ratna Pathak. He was born in Mumbai on January 11, 1990. Vivaan has worked in many films till. He has done various comic and serious roles till now. He has graduated from Dehradun's famous school 'The Doon School'. Vivaan is very close to his elder brother Imaad Shah. Vivaan started his career with director Vishal Bhardwaj's 2011 thriller film 'Saat Khoon Maaf'. After this, after a gap of two years, his second film 'Happy New Year' was released.
Vivaan is the cousin of famous actor Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter asRatna Pathak and Supriya Pathak are real sisters. Supriya Pathak is the wife of Shahid's father Pankaj Kapur. Therefore Vivaan also shared good bond with Shahid and Ishaan. Vivaan Shah remained in news for his personal life also. He was once rumored to be dated Akshara Haasan, the daughter of actor Kamal Haasan. Although both of them never admitted their relationship.

On the career front after Sath Khoon Maaf and 'Happy New Year', Vivaan played the role of Tony in the film 'Bombay Velvet'. The film fell flat at the box office. After this, in the year 2017, his film 'Lali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddu Deewana' and in 2020 the films 'Kot' and 'Kabad - The Coin' were released which proved to be flops. Despite being a strong actor, Vivaan did not get the recognition he deserved in Bollywood like his father. In his career so far, he has played only supporting roles, in which screen timing is also less.
