The Bhupesh Baghel government of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh is going to present its second budget today. CM Bhupesh Baghel is reading the budget for the financial year 2020-21 in the Vidhan Sabha as the Finance Minister. Poverty, malnutrition and inclusion of tribal areas in the race for development is a big challenge for the government amidst the increasing economic burden due to debt.
While presenting the budget of Chhattisgarh in his address, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that we have waived the debt of 17 lakh farmers. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel left for the assembly from his residence in the morning. The Chief Minister will present the budget of the financial year 2020-21 in the Vidhan Sabha today. Members of the committee were present at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee in the Assembly, besides their Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Chaubey.
For your information, let us tell you that more than 37 percent of the children are malnourished and more than 41 percent of the women are suffering from animals. However, the government has started schemes for this. The government will have to pay a major part of the budget to these sectors. The total debt liability on the state is 21.68 percent of GSDP and 5.9 percent of interest payment revenue receipts, which is the minimum from all states. Similarly, out of the total budget, the committed expenditure is only 19.3 percent, which is the minimum from all the states.
