SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav's special lieutenant Azam Khan are constantly being shocked. The recruitment of 853 junior engineers and 335 clerks in Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam has been canceled during the tenure of Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan from Rampur as Urban Development Minister. Earlier, the recruitment of 122 assistant engineers was canceled. Yogi Adityanath government issued an order canceling the recruitment late on Monday night after the SIT investigation found a large amount of disturbances in the recruitments.

According to the media report, on June 18, 2016, the Jal Nigam published an advertisement for direct recruitment to the posts of clerk and stenographer. According to which the written examination for 335 clerical and 63 stenographer posts was conducted by the Messrs Aptech Company of Mumbai between the last 5 to 7 August 2016 respectively. In the computer-based data, the answer form is uploaded on the website immediately after the normal form of examination so that the candidates can submit their objection, but after the written examination, the answer seat is not uploaded on the website. Due to which objections could not be received from the candidates. The list of candidates for the interview was made available to the Jal Nigam. The corporation also did not take cognizance of not uploading the answer seat. The final result was released on 24 December 2016, in which it was decided to cancel the exam due to no candidate being successful in type examination for stenographer posts.

Apart from the clerks of Jal Nigam, Aptech Limited Mumbai also conducted the examination on the posts of Assistant Engineer and Under Engineer. In this, the unsuccessful candidates complained about not being transparent in the examination system in Allahabad High Court. After this, in the order of the High Court, a separate investigation was conducted from two officers of the Chief Engineer level of the corporation. The SIT was also assigned to investigate the entire case. The investigation found disturbances in the recruitments. Recently, the investigation report submitted to the SIT government clearly stated that the criminal conspiracy in the recruitment has destroyed the records.
