During the last three financial years, 58 agreements worth about 1.38 lakh crores were signed for defence procurement. Minister of State for Defense Shripad Naik said in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha on Monday that the Ministry of Defense made full use of the budget allocation for modernization of the armed forces. He said that no work or allocation is incomplete.

In his statement regarding the matter, the Minister of State for Defense said that 364 women officers were inducted in the Army in 2019. In 2018, 819 women officers were inducted. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Naik said that in 2019, 51 women officers were inducted into the Air Force. Earlier in 2018, 59 women officers were added to this force. Similarly, 54 women officers were added to the Navy in 2019 and earlier in 2018 38 women officers were inducted.
