National Commission for protection of child rights sends notice to Priyanka Gandhi

 New Delhi: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has issued a notice to Congress General Secteray Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for the video showing children using derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 The video showed children shouting 'slogans of chowkidaar chor hain' as Gandhi watched and laughed. In the video, children were seen shouting anti-Modi slogans such as 'chowkidaar chor hain' in presence of the Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

The NCPCR notice makes a reference to the incident saying 'a video in which children can be seen shouting slogans using derogatory remarks and abusive language in your presence'.

Emboldened by the gesture of the newly Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and the party workers accompanying her, the children further went on the use of derogatory language against PM Modi. To this, Gandhi replied that they should not use such language and added that instead, the initial slogans were better.

Meanwhile, Congress party fielded Ajai Rai from the constituency against PM Narendra Modi and the speculations that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would be contesting from Varanasi were laid to rest. Gandhi had triggered speculations, when, in response to her party workers urging her to contest from Rae Bareli, she said, 'why not Varanasi'.
