To further strengthen the country's army, the Defense Ministry has approved the purchase of arms worth Rs 22,800 crore. These include six P8I anti-submarine war jets, indigenously built aerial warning and control system (AVOX) aircraft and other military equipment. The procurement of arms was approved in the meeting of the Defense Procurement Council headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. The Defense Ministry issued a statement saying that the Navy will get immense strength from the anti-P8I submarine warfare jet.

According to media reports, this will strengthen the Navy's position in seaside surveillance and anti-submarine warfare. Currently, the Navy has eight P8I long-range maritime aircraft, which are stationed at INS Razali near Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu. The Defense Procurement Council has also approved the purchase of a dual-engine heavy helicopter.

For your information, let us tell you that this will help the Coast Guard to stop maritime terrorism and infiltration of terrorists by sea route. Apart from this, purchase of thermal imaging night site for assault rifle has also been approved. This will help the army to see the targets located at night away in all seasons.
