Shimla: The National Education Policy 2020 has been implemented in Himachal Pradesh with immediate effect. The education secretary has issued a notification in this regard as soon as the permission is received from the Governor on Tuesday evening. Himachal has become the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy. To determine this successfully, a task force of 43 members has been formed.

The Education Minister, Govind Singh Thakur has been made the Chairman of the Task Force, while the State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan has been appointed Member Secretary. The task force has included secretaries of various departments, vice-chancellors of universities and teachers of school-colleges as members. Many teachers have received important posts, and many senior officers will be involved in this.

Education Secretary Rajeev Sharma said that "The Task Force has appointed Education, Health, Technical Education, Finance, Youth and Sports Services and Social Justice Empowerment Department, besides the Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary or Secretary, Chairman of the Board of School Education and President of Higher Education Council, Apart from HPU, cluster university mandi, vice-chancellor of a technical university, Hamirpur, high education director, director of elementary education, principal of SCERT Solan and Diet Shimla will also be members. The nominated members have included many teachers and academics, including the vice-chancellor of the Central University Dharamshala.
