The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is exercising complete secrecy. Since the Bhima Koregaon case has been transferred to the investigating agency. This politically sensitive issue can be dragged into the court. This apprehension is confirmed by the statement of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, including the minister of Maharashtra government.
On Friday, both the NIA and the Ministry of Home Affairs kept silence despite the reaction of all the parties and its politicians from Mumbai. On Saturday also, the Ministry of Home Affairs only confirmed the transfer of the case to the NIA, but the NIA remained silent. According to highly placed sources, the NIA and the Home Ministry are apprehensive that this decision may be challenged in the court. In such a situation, any official statement by the government or agency can be used in the court. That's why both of them thought it better to keep quiet.
If you do not know, let us tell you that it is right to investigate against terrorists and Naxalites. But the Bhima Koregaon case is not directly related to the Naxalites but is connected to the urban Naxalites who were plotting violence against the government. In this case, only the matter of conspiracy to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and contact with senior Naxalite leaders comes under the scrutiny of NIA. But as a proof for this, only the exchange of emails between the alleged urban Naxalites. Obviously, much work remains to be done to establish their relationship with the Naxalites. This is the central government's intention to hand over the investigation to the NIA. But for this, the NIA must first go through the litmus test of political resistance.
