New Delhi: India's star javelin thrower player Neeraj Chopra has been away from sports due to injury for a long time. But now about a year later, he is going to return to the field with participation in the 59th National Open Athletics Championship. Neeraj, who won gold medals at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Jakarta Asian, has not participated in any competition for a year. He threw 83.90 meters at the Army Athletics Championships on September 19 last year.
Neeraj was diagnosed with an elbow injury during practice in South Africa and underwent surgery in May. Ten months before the Tokyo Olympics, he will now be trying to get the rhythm. He said, 'This is the last competition of this season and I want to get the rhythm. I talked to my doctors and they said that I can play in it. Now I feel better. Apart from Neeraj, there will also be eyes on Farrata sprinter Mohammed Anas Yahya and VK Vismaya, long jump player Srishankar, women's javelin player Annu Rani, Farrata runner Duti Chand and shotput player Tejinder Pal Singh Toor.
