In another function, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday gave the New Year gift by depositing Rs 12 thousand crores in the account of six crore farmers of the country. The farmers of other states are getting the benefit of this scheme except for Bengal. Taking a dig at the state government, Prime Minister Modi said that this kind of thinking has done a lot of harm to the people of the country. He hoped that the states which could not connect with the PM farmer would definitely join the scheme this year. The Prime Minister was speaking after attending a function in Karnataka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gave details of the government's efforts in the agriculture sector, including irrigation schemes, crop insurance schemes, soil health cards, neem coated urea. He said that the government's focus is on future needs in agriculture.
