Former Vice President Hamid Ansari on Saturday said that when Parliament enacts a bad law, it ends in a High Court or Supreme Court and judges have to do the work that MPs should do.

In his statement, addressing a program called 'Parliament-2020', Hamid Ansari said that good laws are made when Parliament and Legislatures do not approve the views of the current ruler. In democracy, expression of people's consent and people's aspirations is important. The former chairman of the Rajya Sabha said that earlier the parliament used to sit for 10 days, now it sits for 60 days in a year whereas in other countries the legislature meetings are for 120 to 150 days.

Apart from this, he said that to make any law or rule, a lot of time is required to discuss it, but the sessions of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies are left full today where you meet, say some things, some days Live together and go away. Ansari said that the process of consultation in a democratic system should be fair and open.
