Nations impose UK travel bans after 'out of control' mutant coronavirus strain found in the country

The UK is facing the new strain of the deadly coronavirus. the British government warned that a potent new strain of the virus was "out of control". Others nations have begun to impose travel bans on the UK after it reported a more-infectious and out of control coronavirus variant.

Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium banned flights from the UK . The measures vary and are initially short-term but the French rules also affect Channel freight., the Netherlands imposed a ban on UK flights from 6:00 am (0500 GMT) on Sunday and Belgium said it would follow suit from midnight with ban on planes and trains from the UK. Germany, too, was considering a similar move as "a serious option" for flights from both Britain and South Africa, where another variant was discovered. Italy will also join the ban. 

An EU meeting on Monday morning will discuss a more co-ordinated response. The new variant has spread quickly in London and south-east England. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the infectiousness of the new strain had forced his hand into imposing a lockdown across much of England over the Christmas period.The novel coronavirus has killed at least 1,685,785 people since the outbreak emerged in China last December.
