USA: At a press conference held on Wednesday in Washington, DC with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg revealed that the US-led military alliance has given the Kiev government more than $100 billion over the past year.

NATO has given Ukraine "unprecedented support" since last February, according to Stoltenberg, who spoke to reporters at the State Department. This support includes 120 billion dollars in military, humanitarian, and financial aid.

He continued, "While the US has played a "indispensable role," Canada and the European members have contributed "over half" of the total assistance, "including tanks, advanced air defence systems," and other weapons.

Blinken claims that in terms of military aid, the US has provided "nearly $30 billion," while the other NATO members have provided $13 billion as well as "tens of billions more in humanitarian and economic support."

Blinken added that the key to a final diplomatic settlement of the conflict is "tilting the battlefield in Ukraine's favour."

Following their joint press conference, Stoltenberg and Blinken met with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to discuss increasing funding for Ukraine.

The total value of the weapons, ammo, and supplies the West collectively gave to Ukraine was estimated by the Russian Defense Ministry in December to be $97 billion. Moscow has repeatedly warned the West that arming Ukraine will only make the conflict worse and increase the likelihood of a military clash.

In February 2022, Russia sent troops into Ukraine in response to Kiev's refusal to carry out the Minsk agreements for peace in the Donbass. Russia also demanded that its neighbour make a commitment never to join any military alliance with the West. Since then, the leaders of Ukraine, Germany, and France have acknowledged that the Minsk negotiations were an attempt to buy Ukraine.

The US and NATO insist they are not officially parties to the conflict, despite the fact that numerous Western officials have publicly stated that Ukraine is fighting for their "values" and the international order and that Kiev is carrying out a NATO mission, according to Ukraine's own defence minister.
