New Delhi: Amid the second wave of corona in the country, discussions are currently underway to increase its procurement from abroad due to shortage of vaccine. Meanwhile, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday wrote to chief ministers of all states seeking their consent on procurement of vaccine through the Centre amid corona challenges.

CM Patnaik said he interacted with some chief ministers and shared his views with them. He said no state is safe unless vaccination is done. The Odisha Chief Minister said in the letter that the best option in the current situation is for the Government of India to procure the vaccine and distribute it to the States so that our citizens can get vaccinated at the earliest. He further said that the vaccination campaign should leave states above so that they use the mechanism at their level to vaccinate people.

Patnaik said corona has affected the world during the last one year. Many waves have been observed in most countries. India has also not been vaccinated to it and the second wave of infection has wreaked havoc here as well.
