Amritsar: The political tussle in the state over the Punjab assembly elections continues. In Punjab, the Congress has made Charanjit Singh Channi the CM face, after which there has been resentment among many veteran leaders of the party. There were speculations that one of CM Channi and Punjab congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu would be declared as CM face by the congress high command and the same happened.
Congress has played the bet on the incumbent CM Channi. However, many leaders appear to be unhappy with the party leadership's decision. Sidhu's wife and former MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu is not happy with the high command's decision. Sidhu's wife Navjot Kaur, when asked if Rahul Gandhi has been misled to take decisions on the CM candidate, she said, "Yes... education, work and honesty should be given preference to choose someone on such a big post."
Navjot Kaur said, "Navjot Sidhu would have been the right choice for the CM's post." Let us know that angry over her husband not being made the CM candidate, Navjot Kaur did not even campaign for the Congress on Monday. Her office had sent a schedule of four election campaigns to Navjot Kaur from 11 am to 6 pm on Monday. However, Navjot Kaur cancelled those programmes for unknown reasons.
