Aurangabad: Independent MP from Aurangabad, Maharashtra Navneet Rana has been taken to the hospital. According to the information released from his office, today he has been shifted from Byculla Jail to JJ Hospital. However, at present he has not been admitted to the hospital. Earlier on Monday, his lawyer had written a letter to the jail officials asking why Rana was not being given the facility of CT scan. At the same time, Navneet Rana's lawyer had also written a letter to the jail officials on 29 April saying that Navneet was advised for CT scan for spondylosis, but he was not being taken to the hospital for CT scan.
Navneet Rana's advocate Rizwan Merchant had claimed that his client was not getting proper treatment in jail. Rizwan Merchant wrote a letter to the Superintendent of Byculla Jail. In this, he had claimed that Navneet Rana is suffering from Spondylosis, she is not being provided with the facility of CT scan. He further wrote, for a long time Navneet Rana was forced to sit on the floor and sleep. In such a situation, their pain has increased due to spondylosis. Further treatment cannot be done without CT scan.
Not only this, ADG Maharashtra Jail and Lok Sabha Speaker were also marked in this letter. Advocate Rizwan Merchant wrote that JJ Hospital had given in writing that a CT scan was necessary to test for spondylosis. The lawyer said, this was not done by the jail administration. Rizwan Merchant had said that if anything happens to his client Navneet Rana, then AAP (administration) will be responsible for his health. Rizwan had said that many times appeals were made to your office to get the CT scan of our client done. But due to ill-will, permission was not given. He said, a copy of this complaint was sent to ADG Police and Lok Sabha Speaker.
