Mumbai: For the 10 seats of the Mumbai Maharashtra Legislative Council, to be held on June 20. State cabinet minister Nawab Malik and former home minister Anil Deshmukh will not be able to vote in these elections. The Bombay High Court has refused to vote for Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh in the Legislative Council elections. In fact, both the leaders had filed a petition seeking temporary bail for the elections.

After the court order, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that this is not a setback for the MVA government. Rather, the constitutional right of both the leaders is being denied. Both are members of this house. Sanjay Raut said that it is his right to vote in the Legislative Council elections, but democracy is being blown up in the country. He alleged that someone else was playing the game behind the court's decision.

On the other hand, Congress candidate Bhai Jagtap said that the constitutional rights of Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh are being denied. Both of them have been accused so far, but they have not been proved. The matter is under investigation. In such a situation, not giving them the right to vote is wrong. We condemn this in the strongest terms.
