Nawazuddin Siddiqui has filed a defamation case against his brother Shamsuddin and his ex-wife Anjana Pandey, alias Alia. Nawazuddin has also appealed for Rs 100 crore as damages for defamation and harassment due to the misleading claims he made. Advocate Sunil Kumar has filed the petition on Nawaz's behalf, and it is now scheduled to be heard on March 30.

According to the petition filed, Nawazuddin has appealed to the court that his brother and his ex-wife should not share posts defaming his name on social media and withdraw the allegations leveled against him on social media. Not only this, Nawazuddin has to say that both should apologise to him in writing. Not only this, along with the defamation case of Rs 100 crore, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has also made many serious allegations against his brother and ex-wife. He has accused his brother of misappropriation of money and cheating. He has also accused his ex-wife, Alia, of misusing money. Reports say that in 2008, Nawaz trusted his brother and entrusted him with all the work related to his money because his brother had no job.

In the year 2008, when his brother Shamsuddin told him that he was unemployed, Nawaz supported him. So that the actor can fully concentrate on his acting. Siddiqui's lawsuit states that he handed over credit cards, debit cards, ATMs, signed check books, bank passwords, email addresses, and everything to his brother. However, his brother cheated on him.
