The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested two men for drug trafficking in Patna. The Patna zonal units, NCB recovered a country-made pistol, 12 live cartridges, ₹4 lakh cash, and two SUVs.
The two SUVs were seized with 280gram heroin, 255gram Alprazolam, and 9kgs of kala patthar (used for mixing with heroin before selling). The vehicle was intercepted on the Kanpa bridge between Patna-Aurangabad road. The drug found while a search operation was, Alprazolam, which is a psychotropic substance belonging to the benzodiazepines class, which are anti-depressants. The arrested men were identified as Manoj Kumar a resident of Kaimur and Rohit Kumar Paswan, a resident of Naubatpur. NCB officers recovered arms, ammunition, and cash from them.
Kumar Manish, NCB Patna zonal unit director said the consignment may be sourced from Uttar Pradesh. It was then destined for Patna for further distribution or selling through street peddlers. The officer said NCB nabbed the duo after working on the drug supply chain for over three months. Further investigations are underway. The officials are trying to work on furthermore network linkages with other anti-state activities including the money laundering aspect.
