Mumbai: Two officials involved in the investigation of the Mumbai cruise drugs case related to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan have been suspended. The two officers were transferred after the Aryan Khan case. Now, suspension action has been taken against both of them after suspicious activities. A few days ago, NCB officer Sameer Wankhede was also removed from the post in the Aryan Khan case and former CBI officer Sanjay Singh was given charge in his place.

The officers who have been suspended have been identified as Vishwa Vijay Singh and Ashish Ranjan Prasad. VV Singh is an NCB officer and was transferred to the Guwahati NCB after the Aryan Khan case. At the same time, Ashish Ranjan Prasad is an intelligence (IB) officer and was transferred to CISF. Both officers have now been suspended. According to media reports, the NCB says that the suspension of these two is not related to the Aryan case. It is being told that on the basis of the report of NCB Chief (DDG) Dnyaneshwar Singh, action has been taken against these two officers and their suspension has been done in another case. However, what that case is is not yet clear.

When the cruise was raided over drugs, Vishwa Vijay Singh was the investigating officer and Ashish was his deputy. Later, the investigation was handed over to the SIT of the NCB due to the fact that there was a dispute in the case. During that time, both the officers also recorded their statements. In fact, on the night of October 2 last year, NCB officials raided the Mumbai cruise, in which Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and six others were arrested. Also arrested were Munmun Dhamecha, Arbaaz Merchant, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Satija and Vikrant Chhokar. Aryan Khan and 19 others were accused of consuming and selling banned drugs. A case was registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). However, Aryan Khan and 17 others were granted bail after a lot of controversy.
