Maharashtra Legislative Assembly: Big statement of Ajit Pawar, says, 'Against Citizenship Amendment Act...'

Proposals have been introduced in the Legislative Assembly of Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal against the Citizenship Amendment Act. These laws have been made by the present BJP government. There were speculations about this matter that a resolution against this Citizenship Amendment Act would be passed in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly too.

According to the media report, Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar clarified the situation and said that a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act will not be introduced in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The states of Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, which have tabled in the Legislative Assembly against the CAA, have a single-party government whereas Maharashtra does not have such a situation, where there is a coalition government of three parties (NCP, Congress, and Shiv Sena).

The names of such states include Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, and West Bengal. There were speculations that a resolution against this law would be passed in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly as well. However, Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar have clarified the situation on this matter.
