NEW DELHI: The NCP has reacted bluntly to the statement of BSP supremo Mayawati, who had misjudged the visit of opposition leaders in Jammu and Kashmir. NCP leader Majid Memon has said that Mayawati is saddened by the kind of support she is supporting. Majid Memon said, "If Mayawati is talking about a monolithic India following BabaSaheb Ambedkar's idea, we have opposed the bill.

Majid Memon said that "before revoking Section 370, the ruling party did not tell any leader of the opposition. This has created an emergency-like atmosphere in the country. There has been no thought about it even with the people of Kashmir. This is a completely step against the Constitution," Majid Memon added, "Our intention was to go to Kashmir as to why the opposition leaders have been kept under house arrest." The school is closed to college and is being told it has opened. The plaintiff has stayed. We went to Srinagar to find out the reality, we said many times that we had no purpose of creating unrest, we had no intention of demonstrating.

When Mayawati criticised the opposition leaders, Majid Memon said, "The way the BSP supremo is supporting the BJP is sad, but the truth does not matter. We wanted to be explained to the public. If Kashmir's citizens is to fight against the removal of Section 370, they will fight a legal battle."
