New Delhi: There has been a law for many years to ban child marriage in the country, for years, there has been a movement for religion and social reform, but even today, these social evils prevail. A case has come to light in Jahangirpuri, Delhi where a 15-year-old girl was being married off which was stopped by the activism of the Delhi Commission for Women.

Another aspect of the case is that the child was being married by changing her religion. On the spot, Swathi Maliwal, chairman of the Delhi Commission for Women, reached the spot. She immediately stopped this unlawful marriage. The bride is only 15 years old at the wedding in Jahangirpuri, while according to Indian laws relating to marriage, a girl under the age of 18 and a boy under the age of 21 cannot be married.

Swati Maliwal, chairman of the Delhi Commission for Women has also tweeted about the issue of Jahangipuri. In a tweet, he wrote, "A 15-year-old daughter was being married in Jahangirpuri, and now my team and I have stopped the marriage with SHO of the locality. It is very sad that the country is not naming the end of child marriages. Those who snatch their childhood from children need to be punished with severe punishment," he said.
