Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has urged for declaring cow as a national animal and said the Centre needs to take an effective decision to prevent cow killing.

A petition filed by an accused who was charged under the Uttar Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prevention Act was dismissed by Justice Shamim Ahmed's sole bench. Police detained Mohd Abdul Khaliq for transporting meat. Hindus have confidence and belief in cows, which are regarded as the most sacred animals and the representatives of God, according to the Allahabad High Court's Lucknow bench.

Judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav of the Allahabad High Court gained notoriety in 2021 for suggesting that cows be designated as the country's official animal.

According to Hinduism, a cow contains all 33 types of gods and goddesses. Lord Krishna obtained all of his wisdom from the cow's hooves "In a ruling rejecting a man's request for bail after he was charged with killing cows, the court had stated.
The court also noted that non-Hindu elites vehemently opposed cow slaughter during the Mughal era out of respect for Hindu emotions and that Hindus have long practised cow worship.

A Gujarati court stated last month that ending cow slaughter will solve all of the world's problems. The court made the statement as it sentenced a man to life in jail for smuggling animals out of Maharashtra.

Samir Vinodchandra Vyas, the principal district judge for the Tapi district, said that research has established that cow dung-built homes are not harmed by "atomic radiation" and that using cow urine is a "cure" for a number of fatal ailments.

The judge went on to say that if cows go extinct, the universe will end. "Research has established that atomic radiation has no impact on cow dung homes. Several incurable diseases can be cured by using gaumutra (cow urine), "The cow is the symbol of religion, the judge argued.
