In September 2014, the visionary Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, proposed the observance of the International Day of Yoga during his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Driven by his unwavering determination, the UNGA officially proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga on December 11, 2014.
