Nepal government tightens rules regarding entry of Indians, tension will increase in both countries

Kathmandu: Relations between the two countries remain tense due to the ongoing border dispute between India and Nepal. A new decision of KP Sharma Oli Government of Nepal has added to the bitterness in these relations. Nepal's Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has announced that those going from India to Nepal via road will now be closely monitored by the Government of Nepal.

Nepal is quoting the increasing coronavirus cases behind it, but according to experts, the policies of the Oli government are directly affected by China. At the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Nepal-India Border Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa said that "The Government of Nepal is going to make arrangements to register Indians coming via road from India. The ID card system is a medium for this. We are implementing this rule seeing the situation of corona epidemic".

"During the Corona era, we have started keeping records of those coming from India, so that the epidemic can be curbed. For future also, this step will be better in terms of border security of both countries". The meeting of this committee was called for Nepal-India border security. Nepal's Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa put his point before the committee.
