Kathmandu: A tragic plane crash occurred in Nepal on Sunday (January 15). A passenger plane crashed in Pokhara, Nepal, in which 68 passengers were on board. Nepal Army, Armed Police, Nepal Police as well as local citizens are engaged in rescue operations. So far 32 corpses have been recovered during the rescue operation. Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has expressed grief over the accident. 

According to the report, PM Prachanda has given necessary instructions to all government agencies for effective rescue work. He has also called an emergency cabinet meeting regarding the accident. PM Prachanda's emergency meeting has started. Cabinet ministers of Nepal's Prachanda government are present in the meeting. According to the report, the ATR-72 aircraft of Yeti Airlines had taken off from Kathmandu to Pokhara. There were 68 passengers and four crew members in this 72-seater aircraft, i.e. a total of 72 people. The plane had reached near Pokhara when it crashed. According to Nepali media, this accident took place between Pokhara's old domestic airport and Pokhara International Airport.

According to the report, Yati Airlines spokesman Sudarshan Bartoula has said that there were 68 passengers and crew members on board. A Yati Airlines spokesperson also said that 32 bodies have been recovered so far. The rescue operation is still underway. The incident took place at 11.10 pm.
