Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in a video statement that he will have a pacemaker implanted between Saturday and Sunday over night.

"I had a monitoring device installed a week ago. The device beeped this evening, telling me I needed a pacemaker and that I needed to get one now, according to the video of Netanyahu. "I feel fantastic, but I must follow my doctors' advice,"

Netanyahu, 73, could be seen standing and grinning in the video. He stated that according to his doctors, he would be released from the hospital "tomorrow afternoon."

According to his office, the procedure would be carried out at Tel Hashomer's Sheba Medical Center. On July 15, Netanyahu was admitted to a local hospital for the night due to what his office claimed was dehydration brought on by a trip to the Sea of Galilee without proper sun protection.

On July 16, the hospital reaffirmed its initial dehydration diagnosis and stated that further tests using a subcutaneous holter monitor had revealed Netanyahu to be "in complete cardiac health," though the device would allow his medical team to keep track of his health.
