Mumbai: A complaint has been filed against digital platform Netflix. The Shiv Sena has complained to the police against Netflix accusing it of defaming Hindus and India. Ramesh Solanki, a member of Shiv Sena's IT cell, said that Netflix is bringing the Hindus and India into disrepute.

The complaint states that the American company Netflix is hurting Hindu sentiments. Solanki, citing the example of web series Sacred Games, Leila, has said that these series have misinterpreted Hindus and India. The complaint also mentions comedian Hassan Minhaj's show. This complaint has been written to LT Marg Police Station. Solanki wrote in his complaint, "In almost every series of Netflix India, the country is maligned globally, Hindu phobia is highlighted here and the country is projected in the wrong light on this platform.

Solanki said that he appealed to the authorities to check the contents from these serials and take appropriate action. As notice is sent to the entire team or their license can be cancelled. Solanki said that Hindus cannot be allowed to discredit on the basis of general belief. He has submitted a copy of his complaint to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and also to the Mumbai Police Commissioner. Mumbai Police is investigating on Shiv Sena's complaint.
