Former India team spinner Sushil Doshi has said that Cheteshwar Pujara, who has received the title of Test expert, should be given a chance in the ODI team. Pujara is known as the greatest batsman of all time in Test cricket. So far he has played 77 matches and has scored at an average of 50. He has also played five ODIs between 2013 and 2104 but was able to score only 51 runs.

Talking with the Playright Foundation, Sushil said that "I never want to remove a cricketer like Pujara from my ODI team. I would ask him to hold one end and play till the 50th over. I also think he is capable of it." "I am sorry when a high-class batsman like Pujara is called a slow batsman."

Pujara has not even played a T20 match for India. His average in List A career is only 50. However, in February 2019, he has also scored a century in T20 cricket. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored a century against the Railways while playing for Saurashtra.
