In the wake of New Farakka Express train derailment in Raebareli, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia for the next of the kin of the deceased, Rs 1 lakh compensation for those with serious injuries and Rs 50,000 for those with minor injuries. So far 7 died at the site of incident & 27 injured, including 1 who declared dead at the hospital. There is no live victim trapped now, as  Sanjeev Kumar, Team Commander NDRF asserted.

Reports suggested that 9 coaches were derailed. All Injured taken to Dist Hospital in Raebareli.All passengers evacuated and Special train is being arranged to take them. It may take 24-36 hrs for completion of clearance operation, said DRM Northern Railways on New Farakka Express Train derailment.

Meanwhile ensuring all possible assistance, PM Narendra Modi tweeted, Anguished by the loss of lives due to a rail accident in Raebareli. Condolences to the bereaved families and I pray that the injured recover quickly.
