Honda has unveiled the new Honda Africa Twin 1100 motorbike for 2022. Aside from small tweaks, the newest adventure tourer motorbike has undergone mechanical changes as well.

The newly upgraded dual sportbike features a new colour scheme on the exterior, and a rear baggage rack is now included as standard equipment. A five-step adjustable windshield that is 110 mm shorter and serves as a substitute for the previously discovered fixed screen is also included.

The adoption of a redesigned gearbox is one of the bike's key updates. The automatic transmission's (DCT) settings have been modified to improve the first and second gear feel. In addition, the manual transmission version's electronics have been upgraded to enable smoother gear changes. Honda will reveal pricing for the upgraded dual-sport offering in the coming weeks, and the bike will begin appearing in foreign stores around the same time. In terms of the Indian market, the new 2022 Africa Twin is scheduled to debut in the first part of the year.

While Honda was previously reported to be working on a radar guidance system on its Africa Twin adventure motorcycle, the feature is likely to be introduced only in the next update. As per a previously leaked patent image, the future Africa Twin motorcycle will get new sensors positioned below the front headlamp as part of its radar guidance system. For the record, similar sensor placement is also found on other motorcycles such as the Ducati Multistrada and the KTM Super Adventure.
