Big news for Aadhar cardholders. UIDAI has changed the rules for changing the name, date of birth and gender in the Aadhaar card, which has been notified on Friday. Now any person can change name in Aadhaar card only twice. Apart from this, there have also been changes regarding birth date and gender.

Rule to change birth date tightened - UIDAI has tightened the rules for changing the date of birth in the Aadhaar card. According to this, now DoB will be able to change only once. That too when the person's DoB Aadhaar can be lying before or after 3 years from the date of enrollment.

In this case, DOB can be changed - if the holder does not have DoB proof at the time of Aadhaar Enrollment, then the date that UIDAI will be registered will be treated as declared DoB. However, changes can be made in the holder on giving DoB proof. If UIDAI has verification mark in DoB, then it cannot be changed.

Changing Gender- According to UIDAI, you can get a chance to change the gender in the Aadhar card only once.

After the fixed limit - If you want to change the name, DoB and gender after the fixed limit, then the holder has to contact UIDAI for this. With this, a solid reason for changing it has to be given. The address for giving such request under email is help@uidai.gov.in .
