MOSCOW: As Moscow's military assault on Kiev entered its ninth day, a fresh round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is slated to take place on Thursday in Belovezhskaya Pushcha on the Belarus-Poland border.

As per reports, Russian presidential adviser Vladimir Medinsky said the group led by him arrived at the negotiating site Wednesday evening. Medinsky said, the Ukrainian team is slated to arrive on Thursday, and Moscow and Kiev have agreed on the site for the latest round of negotiations.He said, Russia's military has set up a secure passage for the Ukrainian delegation to travel across Ukrainian territory. It also said, the potential of a ceasefire would be explored during the discussions, among other things.

However, David Arakhamia, the leader of the Party of Servant of the People in Ukraine's parliamentary faction, stated on Facebook that "It is not true that the talks would take place in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The talks will take place, but at a different location. All of the specifics will be revealed later ", according to the Interfax news agency.
