New variant of Corona increases threat, new advisory issued before festivals

Mumbai: The crisis of a new variant of the coronavirus is once again looming in India. Before the festival, BMC in Mumbai has also issued guidelines regarding this. According to the Maharashtra government, in addition to XBB, a patient of new sub-variant BQ.1 and BA.2.3.20 of Omicron has been found in Pune. Which is a recombinant of BA.2.75 and BJ.1. BMC has issued guidelines in the second week of October in view of the increasing cases of corona and the festive season. While issuing the guidelines, the BMC said that due to crowd gatherings and big programs during festivals, corona infection can spread. It is unfair to do any kind of carelessness in this regard. The Executive Health Officer has advised taking several precautionary steps for the prevention of corona cases.

What is said in the guidelines?

- It has been told in the guidelines that during the festive season, take care of all the rules of prevention from the corona. 
- If you have not been given the corona vaccine, then get the vaccine without delay. It has been told in the guidelines that if your immune system is weak then your life is in danger. For this, a booster dose has also been advised. 
- Maintain proper ventilation inside the house, as it helps to prevent the spread of infection in closed rooms.
- Avoid coming in contact with corona infected persons. 
- Wash hands frequently.
- Use a handkerchief/tissue paper over the nose and mouth while sneezing and coughing.
- Wearing a mask is mandatory in crowded places to prevent the spread of infection.
- If you see the symptoms of coronavirus, then get the corona tested. Isolate yourself till the test report comes.

These patients should take the doctor's advice:-

- See a doctor if there is a problem with breathing.
- Immunocompromised patients and people who have recently visited countries in which corona infection is spreading, show them to the doctor.
