Pune: All the resorts in the Pune division of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) are 100 percent reserved for the New Year.

This year, for the first time after Covid-19, 100 percent of the corporation’s resorts have been reserved for New Year’s Eve celebrations and the corporation has organized cultural and entertainment programs for tourists.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Harne, Regional Manager, Pune Division, said, “The curfew order had generated confusion among the tourists. However, all the tourist resorts of the corporation are open and are ready to provide high-quality services and health facilities to the tourists. Along with chocolate, masks and sanitizers are also being distributed in the resorts of the corporation for the New Year reception. Tourists are being provided information on tourism facilities, food, information about the surrounding nature, local sports, traditions, cultural events, wildlife, tree planting and other safety measures through the website, Facebook and WhatsApp groups.”

Meanwhile, the Corporation’s Pune division resorts are 100 percent reserved. at present, cold weather places are becoming a special attraction for tourists. Tourists visit Panshet, Karla (Lonavla), Matheran, Malshej Ghat, Koynanagar and Mahabaleshwar in Pune division and Bhimashankar tourist accommodation is also crowded with tourists. Following the orders of Pune District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh and the government by taking defensive measures, the corporation intends to present small-scale entertainment and cultural programs in tourist accommodation, Harne said.
