The situation for the host is quite complex when they meet New Zealand in the second ODI in Pune. India side is the well balanced side in all streams. For team India it is do or die situation for the host as Kiwis will go hard against them. Kiwis had won the toss and elected to bat first as they lose the first wicket of opening batsmen Martin Guptill who gone cheaply for just 11 runs off 9 balls. India is unlikely to change their XI but could rejig the batting order, moving Dinesh Karthik up a position to No. 4, after a steady comeback innings in Mumbai. New Zealand, barring fitness issues, have no reason to tinker with their winning combination from the first game.

Team India makes one change in the squad as they left Kuldeep Yadav who emerged as a great peace of bowling against the Australia. Axar patel, the left-arm orthodox bowler who is going to replace Kuldeep Yadav.

India: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (capt), Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni(wk), Hardik Pandya,  Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah

New Zealand:  Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Kane Williamson (capt), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (wk), Henry Nicholls, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Trent Boult, Tim Southee
