Amidst all this, the Government of Goa has given great relief to the poor people. In fact, the Goa government is going to implement such a scheme (Free LPG Cylinder Scheme Goa) by the end of this month, under which thousands of people living below the poverty line (BPL) will get free LPG cylinders.

Let us tell you that the Rural Development Agency Minister Govind Gaude gave this information this week. In fact, he said that by the end of this month, the scheme of giving free gas cylinders to the people below the poverty line will be implemented. Let us tell you that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had promised to provide free LPG cylinders to the people coming under BPL during the recently held assembly elections.

At the same time, the minister said that the BJP government is fulfilling its election promise. With this, Gowde said, 'With this, in the second phase of the scheme, those families whose annual income is less than Rs 4 lakh will be covered. With this, he said that the benefit of this scheme will be given to 37 thousand families of Goa living below the poverty line. Yes, they will get the LPG cylinder money directly in their account. Along with this, the minister said that all the families coming under BPL will get the LPG cylinder money in the bank account at the end of every financial year (FY). Gowde further said that, 'Generally a family uses six cylinders in a year'.

With this, he said, 'We will check how many cylinders have been used by the beneficiary families in a year. Normally a family uses six gas cylinders in a whole year. We will send them money for three cylinders in their bank accounts. He further said that 'this scheme will put a burden of Rs 36 crore on the state government.'
