Niger: In a freaky country Niger,137 people were killed by motorcycle-borne gunmen in villages located near the Mali border. Government spokesman Abdurrahman Zakaria confirmed all the murders last Sunday. Earlier, at least 100 people were killed in the western villages of Tchombangou and Zaroumdareye.
Such attacks in Niger have increased since the announcement of the presidential election and the appointment of Mohamed Bazoum as President. The day the government spokesman confirmed the recent killings, Bajum was officially declared the winner of the February elections in Niger's constitutional court. Likewise in January, when at least 100 people were killed in two villages, the date of the presidential elections was announced on that day.
However, no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the recent attacks. But Islamic fundamentalists often wreak havoc in villages bordering Mali and Niger. This time too, the suspicion of attack is on them only. Local people say that armed men came on bikes and fired on everything that was shaking. The villages that the terrorists attack come to the Tahoua area. Islamic fundamentalists carry out attacks in the villages of Niger, due to which thousands of people have been killed here so far. More than 50 lakh people have left their homes after being hit by violence.
