Kochi: Kerala has once again beenattacked by the deadly Nipah virus. The state health minister, KS Selja said that the investigation report of the youth sent by the Pune Virology laboratory confirmed the virus. The 23-year-old college student is a resident of Ernakulam, Kochi.  last year, 17 people lost their lives in Kerala in the grip of Nipah virus.

On the other hand, additional caution has been initiated at the level of administration after the matter has come to the fore. The college student suffering from Nipah is undergoing treatment at Kochi Hospital. It may be noted that on Monday, the health minister had dismissed media claims that the young man who was getting treatment was infected with Nipah virus. He had said that there was no confirmation in the young man's investigation report, so there is no need to worry.

At the same time, it was assured that the health Department was fully prepared to face any kind of situation. On Tuesday, the health minister himself was confirmed to be the Nipah virus in the young man. He said that after confirmation of Nipah virus in the youth, we are taking extra precautions.
