New Delhi: One year is being completed today after the execution of Nirbhaya convicts. On March 20, 2020, the four Nirbhaya convicts were hanged in Tihar Jail in Delhi. The entire country, while applauding the court's order, had described it as a necessary step to rein in sexual harassment against women. But AP Singh, a lawyer for the culprits, has raised several questions on the execution.

AP Singh said that 4 youths were hanged only because had to convey a message to society. This is judicial killing. The death of a Nirbhaya was retaliated by killing 5 people. But, even after hanging these four, was there any drop in the cases of rape in the country? The fifth accused, Ram Singh, had committed suicide in Tihar.

AP Singh said that hanging is not only the solution to stop rape cases. This was the first crime of all these youths and all were from a very poor family. Since his imprisonment, his family was in such a bad shape that even they were not able to get the daily needs. After hanging all these, someone's wife became a widow, someone's father snatched away, and someone's father died in shock after the death of the son and the mother became a widow.
