New Delhi: Mukesh Singh, one of the four criminals of Nirbhaya, has moved a new approach by filing a petition in the Delhi court to avoid the hanging on March 20. Mukesh, convicted for hanging in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, has filed a petition in Delhi court through his lawyer ML Sharma, claiming that he was not in Delhi during the December 16, 2012 incident with Nirbhaya.

He claimed in the petition that he (Mukesh) was arrested on December 17, 2012 from Rajasthan. In such a situation, he was not present at the scene i.e. Vasant Vihar in Delhi. Simultaneously Mukesh has also accused him of harassment in Tihar Jail. After hearing the petition of Mukesh, the court has reserved its decision. Surprisingly, Mukesh has run this maneuver just 3 days before the hanging on March 20.

The question is also arising that till now why he has not filed such a petition in the court that he was not in Delhi on the spot or the day of the incident. Earlier on Monday, the apex court dismissed the plea of convict Mukesh Singh seeking permission to use the corrective petition and mercy petition again.
