New Delhi: AP Singh, an advocate for the accused in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, has filed an application in the Patiala House Court seeking a stay on the February 1 hanging. In this application, the lawyer has given the mercy plea of the convict Vinay as the basis for consideration. The Patiala House Court will hear this application today.

At the same time, sources in Tihar Jail say that they will write a letter to the Home Ministry of Delhi Government, in which they will say that the mercy petition of Nirbhaya's guilty Vinay is under consideration. So the hanging on February 1 should be banned. According to the rule, the mercy petition cannot be hanged until disposed of. At the same time, sources are saying that the date of execution of Nirbhaya's culprits is fixed on February 1.

So far, no order has been received to stop the hanging of Tihar Jail. If the court asks for a stay on the execution, the hanging will be postponed until the next black warrant is issued, otherwise it will be hanged on February 1. Pawan hangman is also going to reach Tihar jail today. Let me tell you, convict Vinay Sharma has sent a mercy petition to President Ramnath Kovind, which has not been decided yet.
