Nirmala Sitharaman is celebrating her birthday today. She was born on 18 August 1959 in a Brahmin family in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Her father's name is Shri Narayan Sitharaman and mother's name is Savitri Devi. She was keen to understand India's political system since childhood. She received her BA degree from Sitalakshmi College, Tiruchirappalli. After this, she received her MA degree in Economics in the year 1980 from Jawaharlal Nehru University. After that, she also got an MPhil degree.

Nirmala Sitharaman is a familiar name in Indian politics. She is the leader of the right wing ideology, and has been working under the BJP for a long time. After winning the National Democratic Alliance in the 2014 Lok Sabha, she was given a place in the cabinet by PM Narendra Modi. Apart from joining the country's cabinet, she is also on the post of BJP spokesperson, due to which she is seen speaking from the party's side in the TV debates of many channels.

In the Bharatiya Janata Party, she is from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu. In 2014, she took over the charge of Defense Minister in an excellent manner. In the immediate time 2019, she has been given the command of the Finance Ministry, which is a very important ministry.
