Nissan teases two new electric cars to be manufactured in the United States

Nissan has teased two upcoming electric vehicles that will be produced at its Mississippi plant in the coming days. The teaser for the two electric vehicles was released as part of the Japanese firm's intentions to increase its EV push in the United States.

Nissan has announced that its Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant in Mississippi would serve as the hub for its electric vehicle production in the United States. The factory is now undergoing renovations in order to support EV manufacturing technology. Nissan has announced a 500 million dollar investment.

From 2025, the two electric vehicles, which include Infiniti models, will be produced.  "Today's announcement is the first of several major investments that will fuel the EV revolution in the United States," said Nissan Motor Corporation COO Ashwani Gupta. Nissan is making a significant investment in Canton's future, providing cutting-edge technology, training, and processes to help the city develop a truly world-class evs manufacturing team."

"Nissan is the cornerstone of the state's automotive sector," stated Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves. Mississippians continue to create award-winning automobiles for the global automotive giant nearly 20 years after founding its Canton facility. Nissan's decision to convert a portion of its facility to make electric vehicles and battery packs puts Mississippi in the spotlight once again, showcasing our workforce's pride in a job well done and dedication to long-term success. As Nissan transitions to electric vehicle production, the Mississippi team is ready to resume production of what will surely be some of the highest-quality EVs currently available."

Nissan has already announced its Nissan Ambition 2030 electric vehicle goal. By 2030, the company plans to offer 23 electrified vehicles under the Infiniti brand in worldwide markets. Nissan aspires to be carbon-neutral by 2050. Nissan is targeting for 40 percent of its US car sales to be entirely electric by 2030 as part of this effort.
