Patna: A delegation led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 am today on the issue of caste census. Talking to reporters in Patna recently, Nitish made a statement saying, "I have to meet the Prime Minister with me and 10 people in Delhi at 11 am on Monday." Nitish Kumar also said, "Some people have reached Delhi and some people will arrive today. We have been talking about the caste census from the very beginning. Not only Bihar, people all over the country think about it. It is on this point of view that we will speak tomorrow.''

Nitish was questioned about his meeting with Prime Minister Modi today, Monday, over the caste census in 2021. On the passing away of veteran BJP leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, Nitish said, "We have a long association with him. We mourned the news of his demise yesterday. He had been unwell for the past few days and passed away yesterday. It is sad, we pay tribute to him.''

He also congratulated Raksha Bandhan and said, "Just as everyone protects each other, brothers and sisters, so everyone should protect trees." For this purpose, on 13th August 2012, on the day of Raksha Bandhan, the Chief Minister launched the 'Tree Protection Day'. The objective is to make people aware of the environment and to conserve more and more plantations and trees.'
