BIHAR:  Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, lost his cool in the state legislature on Wednesday when opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders slammed his government over a number of deaths linked to fake alcohol in the Chhapra area of the Saran district.

As Leader of the Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha questioned the state's policies on the prohibition of alcohol since 2016, the head of Janata Dal-United slammed the BJP for denouncing the deaths.

Nitish Kumar lost his control in the House and screamed at the BJP MLAs ''Sharabi ho gaye ho tum...(you are drunk)"
Later, opposition members from Bihar staged a protest outside the state assembly in response to the incident.
At least five people in Chhapra died after reportedly consuming fake alcohol, and they feared that number may increase.

The police in Ishauvpur have termed the deaths "suspicious" as they continue with probe and post-mortems.
"Three people died, and the bodies were sent for postmortem, ", these look like suspicious deaths. I have also received information that some more are receiving treatment at different places," said the SP.

Among the deceased is Amit Ranjan, who died during treatment at Chhapra Sadar Hospital. The district police reached the hospital and took Ranjan's body into custody. The police said that the cause of the death would be confirmed only after the post-mortem.
